Students are given the opportunity to showcase their best work to the public during NISD’s Night of No Limits and Techno Expo. While NISD is committed to providing students with a curriculum that fosters creativity, innovation and problem solving skills, the district understands the state’s current system requires students to participate in standardized testing. The STAAR (State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness) replaced the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) in the 2011-2012 school year. This assessment is one reflection of the successes earned by NISD students each year. Students demonstrate their achievements in many other ways as reflected in the district’s Community-Based Accountability Measures of Success.
